New La Source Wellness Centre at Shandrani Resort, Mauritius |
Beachcomber's
Shandrani Resort & Spa, the first luxury fully all-inclusive resort
in Mauritius, has opened a new La Source Wellness Centre. Covering
2,400 square meters the centre will complement the existing La Source
Spa.
The design for La Source Wellness Centre features pure symmetrical
lines to define the area, which is dominated by calming slate waterways
and a centuries old badamier tree on a central island. There's also an
additional plunge pool and decking providing spacious relaxation areas.
At the far end of the waterway is a vast Indian-style doorway leading
through to the Ayurvedic Centre.
There are twenty rustic, open-sided cabins with private walled gardens
and outdoor showers. The cabins’ thatched roofs soar up to tree level
to blend in with the tropical surroundings. Hibiscus, jasmine and
frangipani trees provide bursts of colour and fragrance. In total 2500
new plants and trees have been planted within the grounds.
Both the Spa and Wellness Centre offer a full range of Decléor and
traditional treatments. And according to the resort's general manager,
Jean Louis Pismont: “Decléor opened a training school in Mauritius to
train our new therapists. We now have a total of 47 staff working in
the spa and wellness centre including 30 therapists. Guests have a
choice of 31 treatment rooms and cabins, three saunas, three hamams and
a new Ayurvedic centre.”
The fully inclusive package at Shandrani Resort & Spa offers all
guests over the age of 18-years a complimentary 45-minute massage as an
introduction to the full range of Decléor and traditional treatments
available.
The Shandrani Resort & Spa is one of eight Beachcomber hotels on
Mauritius. The company created the first hotel in Mauritius in 1952 and
has maintained its position at the forefront of the island’s
hospitality industry ever since. Beachcomber has contributed towards
the islands status as one of the most sought-after holiday destinations
in the world.
