The luxury Ritz Carlton, Dubai is on an exclusive beach-front island located in the heart of Dubai's new Marina complex, adjacent to the Arabian Gulf.
Both the Emirates and Montgomerie golf courses are on the doorstep, yet this is an intimate retreat in the midst of 35,000 square metres of landscaped gardens where one can escape and relax.
The hotel is only six storeys tall, built in the style of a Spanish hacienda, and there's a great deal of building work going on behind it, with huge skyscrapers going up everywhere. Although very busy, this shouldn't create any disturbance to guests inside the Ritz Carlton, and will eventually be finished.
With just 138 rooms, the Ritz Carlton Dubai is considerably smaller than many of its neighbours, but that's actually a distinct advantage as guests receive an extra special level of service, and staff remember your name.
Rooms and suites
All guest rooms and suites feature flat screen TVs and DVD players, and come with minibar, bathrobes and slippers. Rooms are serviced twice daily, and in-room dining is available 24-hours.
Deluxe rooms have a choice of one king or two queen beds, and all have private balcony or patio with pool and garden views.
The nicest rooms though are the Club Rooms, located on the 5th and 6th floors. These larger rooms have all the same amenities as the deluxe rooms, but have sea views and give guests access to the Ritz-Carlton Club lounge between 6am and 2am daily.
Be warned though, the food and drink offered in the Club lounge is so good, you may find yourself missing out on the other delights the hotel has to offer.
