The Tivoli Lisboa
Hotel has been one of Lisbon's grandest hotels since 1933, and is
popular with leisure and business travellers.
Offering
the exemplary levels of service one would expect from a five-star
hotel, the Tivoli Lisboa adds a touch of Portuguese flair and style.
The hotel probably wouldn't win prizes for the aesthetic appeal of
its exterior. Once inside however, it's a different matter.
From the moment you walk in and stand in the sumptuous two-storey
foyer, all your cares simply wash away.
The Tivoli Lisboa is adorned with paintings by artist, Mily Possoz, who lived
at the hotel for nearly 20 years. When Mily ran out of money,
she paid for her lodging in paintings, which now adorn the hotel's
public spaces.
Just
a ten minute stroll from the hotel, the main centre of historic Lisbon opens before you, while
Edward VII park, a short distance further on, invites exploration. The nearest underground
station is a few minutes walk from The Tivoli, giving easy access to all Lisbon's major
attractions and city centre shops.
Hotel facilities
The
hotel comprises 329 rooms, spread over eight floors, including 15 suites and
15 Junior suites. Two rooms are adapted for disabled guests.
All
rooms have individually controlled air conditioning, direct dial
telephones, satellite TV, video channels and radio, Internet connection,
pay TV, mini-bar and safe. Bathrobes are supplied as standard.
Suites also contain elegantly furnished dining/living areas which complement the tastefully decorated bedrooms.
The Tivoli LIsboa has an in-house hairdresser, barber and florist, and a well equipped gymnasium for guests' use.
Outside,
the grounds contain a small palace, which was once the residence of an
18th century aristocratic family. In the grounds of the former
palace is the heated pool, screened by a well-established canopy of
trees and offset by a spacious lawned area with plenty of lounge-chairs
from which to soak up the rays. The pool is open only during the
warmer months, and has an adjacent bar serving light meals, snacks and
drinks.
