Page 1 of 2 Psssst, want
to sleep with the stars? Then why not take a trip to the
Schlosshotel Buehlerhoehe, where the England football team stayed as they prepared for the 2006 World Cup.
Located 15km outside the spa town of Baden-Baden, the Schlosshotel
Bühlerhöhe lies island-like in an 18-hectare forested park.
Created by Hertha Isenbart in memory of her husband General Wilhelm
Isenbart, the baroque-style castle was built between 1911 and 1914, as
a convalescent home for generals of the Imperial Prussian
Army. Remaining empty during the First World War, the
Bühlerhöhe began life as a hotel in 1920, since when many famous
personalities have stayed there.
Room Service
As you might expect from a top-class deluxe hotel, guests' every whim is catered to. Each of the 90 sumptuous air-conditioned rooms and suites is decorated in muted colours, complemented by dark-wood antique furniture, and has its own fax connection, internet connection, private safe and minibar.
The super-comfortable beds have hypo-allergenic bedding available on request, and rooms come with separate sitting areas. Luxury marble bathrooms have separate bath and shower, bidet, bathrobes, slippers and luxury toiletries.
Dining
The Imperial Restaurant, serving contemporary French cuisine. Intimate, candle-lit and decorated in dusky tones, the restaurant looks out on the Black Forest.
For regional and international dishes, the Schlossrestaurant and Bellevue Terrace also have views over the forest and Rhine Valley. Snacks and refreshments are served in the Espresso Lounge, under the watchful gaze of the hunting-scene mural.
Both the Imperial and Schlossrestaurants are under the direction of Chef Christian Scharrer, who has awards from both Michelin and Gault Millau.
