A luxurious landmark five-star hotel situated on El Roda Island, the Grand Hyatt Cairo enjoys a very central location within the business and commercial district of Cairo, but is at the same time just 20km from Cairo airport and close to the city's cultural and tourist attractions.
The hotel is very security-conscious. Bags are scanned on arrival, and guests have to pass through a metal detector. It only takes a moment, and it's good to see an effort being made to protect visitors.
The 41 storey tower has a sculpted, curved design, and provides spectacular views of the Nile and the surrounding river scenery.
Shoppers will find The Galleria, one of the most luxurious shopping complexes in Cairo, forms part of the hotel premises. There are also two cinemas, an auditorium and a food court in The Galleria, providing guests with the opportunity to visit the boutiques or catch a film - although English ones aren't always available.
