Escapes Travel Guides has always championed sustainable travel and green methods of transport; long before it became fashionable!

All our features and articles are produced as a result of car-free travel; in fact we don't own a car.  We actively encourage our readers to enjoy the rewards car-less travel can bring by providing comprehensive public transport details in each story.  Just imagine!  No traffic jams, no parking charges, no worrying that the car will be stolen or vandalised, and the icing on the cake - if you're on a day trip, you can enjoy a few drinks, too.

We see no reason why luxury travel should be any different.  We look for hotels offering guests the opportunity to re-use towels and bedding; hotels offering green transport initiatives and those which are accessible car-free.  It's kinder to the environment and better for everyone's health to leave the car at home.

Very few of our features and articles are produced as a result of flying, and those that are use airlines flying as full as possible and with the most energy efficient aircraft.  Once on the ground, we never hire a car, and instead use local transport systems to get around.

All our guides are online only, so there's no wasteful paper or polluting print process used in producing them.
